This year is the 18th Daegwallyeong Snow Flower Festival, one of Gangwon-do province's most popular winter festivals. Taking place for five days from January 16 to 24 in the area of Dagwallyeong, this festival will feature an ice sculpture competition in the main event hall and a variety of hands-on programs.
Under this year's theme of 'Episode of Snowfield! Invitation to Dazzling Snow-White World', there will be a large variety of attractions, including 25-meter-long snow tunnel and 2,018 snowmen. Visitors can also visit a sheep ranch in a nearby village, enjoy many leisure sports, and try out the traditional method of roasting pollack.
In addition, visitors to the festival can participate in exciting activities such as the 'topless marathon tournament', a hiking competition', and riding the snow mobile train. Traditional sleigh riding on snow, snow rafting, and 'the igloo experience' will make sure visitors really get the most out of this winter season.
