Taebaek City at Gangwon-do Province will celebrate its first luminarie festival around its main streets and Hwangji Pond area. Over 53,000 LED light bulbs will be installed at various parts of the city including tunnels and roads to emphasize the city's image as home of beautiful snow. Hwangji Pond will also be decorated with LED figures of snow flakes, stars and deer, adding up to installation of 140,650 LED lights in total. The festival takes place at the sideline of Taebaeksan Mountain Snow Festival which is to take place from Jan. 22 to 31 in 2010.
