Cheongdo First Full Moon Festival
Cheongdo County of Gyeongsanbuk-do (North Gyeongsang Province) holds its annual Full Moon Festival known as daljip (moon house) burning event at the end of February on Sunday (Feb. 28). Villagers will gather around at the hill to build small wood houses which they named daljip and set it on fire, as a way to ward off misfortunes for the coming year. The size of daljip for this year will be 20 meters high and 15 meters in width in size with 30 straw ropes and 60 small wooden pillars, making it the biggest daljip in the country.

Other new year greeting events include dalmaji (moon greeting), or looking at the full moon to make a wish and folk games like tuho (arrow shooting), kite flying, fireworks, nut-roasting and more.
