Samcheok City's grand tug-of-war event for this year which celebrates its fourth anniversary will be held at Expo Town square in Seongnam-dong. The "Gi" tug-of-war as the folk game is named, will receive participation of 30 men and 10 women from each team. Those interested can call (☎033-570-3576, Korean) until Feb.20 to join the fun.

The Gi tug-of-war takes place alongside the annual full moon festival which is designated an intangible cultural property no.2 in Gangwon-do (Gangwon Province). Other cultural events will include lantern event, fireworks display and kite-flying among others.
