The Boryeong Mud Festival probably attracts the largest number of international visitors out of all the festivals in Korea.
Attracting 2 million visitors every year, the event was chosen one of the nine “Fabulous Festivals You Don't Want to Miss” by Huffington Post UK (www.huffingtonpost.co.uk) on June 25, along with Fiesta de San Fermin and La Tomatina in Spain, Global Gathering in the UK, Palio di Siena in Italy, and Aomori Nebuta Matsuri in Japan.
Fully immersed in the both the mud and the festival’s great atmosphere, visitors can enjoy mud wrestling, mud sliding, a mud marathon, mud painting, swimming in a mud mega tub, and mud massage. In the evening, the party continues with music and fireworks on Daecheon Beach. There is also a street parade, a yacht parade, a mud showroom, and a local specialties exhibition and sale.
