The first ECM Music Festival to be held in September will feature pianist András Schiff, oboist Heinz Holliger, guitarist Ralph Towner, and violist Kim Kashkashian, artists who represent the German label located in Munich.
The last concert on September 7 will bring together Schiff, Holliger, and Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of maestro Chung Myung-whun as well as jazz vocalist Shin Yeah-won, the first Korean to release an album with ECM and the first Korean to be nominated for the Best Musica Popular Brazileria Album for the 12th Latin Grammy Awards at in 2011.
The title of the festival is “the Most Beautiful Sound, Next to Silence,” taking audiences to another dimension of joy and harmony in music.
The first concert on September 3 will present Shin with legendary acoustic guitarist Towner. Kashkashian, one of the most experimental violists in the world, won a Grammy Award for Best Classical Instrumental Solo in 2013.
