The annual Hampyeong Butterfly Festival gives visitors a great chance to enjoy exhibitions and hands-on programs, all related to butterflies, plants and farm animals.
The exhibitions include a hall filled with 50,000 living butterflies, 35,000 caterpillars and 15,000 insects, a showroom with 9,000 butterfly specimens and a botanical garden with 2,500 different types of succulent plant.
At the festival, you can release butterflies into flower beds, run with rabbits and piglets on a grass field, feed farm animals like cows, pigs, goats, chickens and ducks, and collect milk from a milk cow.
You can also enjoy Hampyeong-gun’s two great specialties: the delicious local beef, and the seawater sauna.
