Toecheon-myeon Village in Gwangju, Gyonggi-do Province, invites tomato lovers from around the world to its yearly tomato festival.
Visitors can enjoy picking tomatoes, and try their hand at making many kinds of food that use fresh locally-grown tomatoes as ingredients, such as tomato cold noodles, dumplings, and the two perennial favorites spaghetti and pizza.
Visitors can also take a soak in a "tomato pool" and slide down a "tomato slide."
Finally, there are prizes for tomato-related competitions, too, such as building a tomato tower, drinking
makgeolli rice beer (막걸리) made with tomatoes, breaking a tomato out of an ice block, and much more.
See you there!
