Daegu, home to numerous Korean fried chicken franchises, including Kyonchon and Mexicana, hosts an annual chimac festival, or a fried chicken and beer festival. The word chimac is a portmanteau of "chicken" and the Korean word for "beer," or maekju (맥주).
At the festival you can sample various chicken dishes from multiple restaurants, as well as beer, of course.
There will also be a parade, a masquerade ball, a cooking competition, concerts, dance parties, an artists’ market and food trucks to make the event even more enjoyable!
