Jinju-si City in Gyeongsangnam-do Province invites tourists to its annual floating lantern festival from Oct. 1 to 15.
Visitors will be able to appreciate the colorful lanterns floating along the Namgang River up close as they stand on one of the three pontoon bridges or on a small boat decorated with giant lanterns. There will also be fireworks in front of the beautiful Chokseok-ru Pavilion, a “trick art” exhibition of interesting trompe l'oeil photos and traditional performances.
You can also design and make your own lantern to hang on the walls of the venue or to float down the Namgang River.
Desserts and teas are available at the outdoor café, aside the beautiful scenery of floating lanterns. Local delicacies will also be on sale during the event.
