Hyoseok Cultural Festival
Named after Lee Hyo-seok (이효석, 李孝石) (1907-1942), the author of “When Buckwheat Flowers Bloom” (메밀꽃 필 무렵) (1936), the festival is held at the author's hometown in Bongpyeong-myeon Village, Pyeongchang, famous for its beautiful buckwheat flower fields. The town is especially famous for its spectacular nightscapes.
