Beauty of K-Attire

The exhibition “Beauty of K-Attire” at Korean Cultural Center in Thailand running through 27th October – 11th December 2020.

Hanbok, the traditional attire of the Korean people, is a symbol of beauty. Hanbok can be classified into the ceremonial and everyday outfit, and then further categorized by gender, age, and season. The exhibition exposes the story of the beauty of Hanbok and displays variety of Hanbok such as children’s Hanbok and Hwarot which is a type of Korean traditional clothing worn by royal women for ceremonial occasions during the Joseon period. Later it was worn by commoners as a wedding gown. Today, it is still worn by brides during the wedding ceremony. Hwarot is colorful and lavishly decorated. The cloth is woven with colorful embroidered designs and symbols for longevity, great fortune, and happy marriage. You can also try Hanbok in this exhibition.
