Events at KCCs abroad

The Korean Cultural Center held 'GKS and Korea Study Abroad Online Seminar' in light of the growing interest in the GKS (Korean government scholarship program) and study abroad in Korea. The seminar, which was broadcast live through Zoom and the Cultural Center's YouTube channel, provided the latest information on GKS and a Q&A session, which was a valuable time for participants planning to apply for GKS or study in Korea.

About 500 participants participated in the seminar, and during the question-and-answer session,'how did you study Korean?','How was your study abroad life in Korea after passing GKS?', 'How did you choose to study in Korea for a science and engineering major? ', etc. Various questions were followed, and the invited guests answered based on their experiences and information.

Merve Gokmen, invited guest, who was selected as a graduate of GKS Turkey two times in 2017 (Master's degree in law, Korea University) and 2020 (doctoral program in law, Seoul National University), said, “Korea has established a world-class university based on a high-quality education system. It is attracting great interest to people around the world culturally such as K-pop, Korean Wave, dramas and movies. In particular, studying in Korea, as a brother country with cultural and linguistic similarities, is a big dream for Turkish students. I am very lucky and honored to have been selected as a GKS scholarship student twice, and I hope that more Turkish students will have the opportunity to study in Korea in the future.”

Park Kee Houng, Director of the Korean Cultural Center, said, "We plan to continue such education-related events in the future so that we can provide useful information to students who dream of studying in Korea and help them realize their goals."
