India`s largest Essay Writing Competition for school students

Press Club of India which praises its 74 year history and more than 9,000 journalist members throughout all India and Leaders For Tomorrow Foundation, along with Korean Cultural Centre India, have launched India’s largest Essay Writing competition for high school students on the theme of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The primary aim of this competition is to inculcate the habit of reading and writing among school children and youth and to give high school students (from classes 8 to 12) an opportunity to voice their ideas and to help work on the social issues that they come across in their day-to-day lives. The winners will be selected on the basis of the understanding of the problem, selection of topic, feasibility of the idea suggested and writing skills.
Students from across the country may submit their entries online from 1st February, with the last date for entries being 15th March, 2021. The jury for the competition comprises senior journalists from the Press Club of India. The results will be announced on 15th May, 2021.
Winners will be selected at the National, State and school levels, and there will be a special competition for national level selected students: Korean Culture Centre India and the organizers will be conducting special round of essay competition with Korean related topic, for the top 100 contestants. The top two winners of this special round competition will get a fully sponsored week-long victory trip to South Korea.
The top hundred participants will also be provided the opportunity to get trained as student reporters, working on reporting about development issues, sponsored by the Development Channel. All winning essays at the national and state levels will be published in Voice Of Kids(VoK). Top three entries from schools with more than 50 participants, will also be published in Voice of Kids. Schools with more than 50 participants will get special privileges including consideration for student-exchange programmes, training for writing and reporting, complimentary membership in Voice of Kids clubs etc.

I am happy to contribute this meaningful event as our practical small step for resolving the issue along with prestigious Press Club of India which has long history. We, Korean Cultural Centre India has focused on children and youth programs from its beginning understanding children and youth are our future even in cultural diplomacy. I hope to reach out to more Indian youth and students for providing them equal chance in terms of education and culture appreciation, Korean culture and Korean language.
