Events at KCCs abroad

Ambassador Lee Won-ik visited Turkish Education Minister Ziya Selcuk on February 3rd and asked for △ Korean language education project school, △ Korean teacher visa issuance and Turkish teacher quota. He requested cooperation in publishing Korean textbooks and discussed the MOU for educational cooperation between the two countries in order to promote Korean language education in elementary, middle and high schools of the host country.

 

Ambassador Lee said that the special relationship between the two countries is based on Turkey's participation in the Korean War in June 26th and has developed in many ways, including politics, economy, culture and education, especially during the war, the Turkish military established the Ankara Academy and provided education which was very meaningful.

 

In response, Minister Selcuk said that Korea and Turkey are brothers who shared blood, and although the two counties are geographically far away from each other they have been closely cooperating and even established a Turkish cultural center in Korea last year. And he mentioned the need to develop exchanges and cooperation in the education sector through the signing of an MOU for educational cooperation between the two countries.
