The title of the exhibition was borrowed from the Korean poet Kim Chun Soo＇s "Flower". ＇Until I called its name it was nothing but a gesture. When I spoke its name, it came to me and became a flower.＇ In this famous poem by Kim Chun Soo, the act of calling something by its name symbolizes the recognition of geometrical elements and material objects around us which we were not aware of. The creative work of an artist is similar to the act of calling ＇its name＇ in the way it is an attempt to reveal that which we do not necessarily pay attention to. An artist incessantly questions and goes beyond ordinary objects, space, events, actions and conceptions in an attempt to expand our horizons, and takes on the challenge of providing visual answers. Thus we are made to experience a new vision of spaces and objects we had been accustomed to or even of the mechanism of time. This is the very moment when it comes to us to become a flower.  

This exhibition presents such attempts in various forms of drawing, sculpture, installations, photography, montage and sketches. A large spectrum of artwork from keen satire designed to re-open our eyes to an obsolete truth on political, social, cultural practices and on education and media, to a simple but touching overview of neglected outsiders and to material transformations of objects giving birth to new objects free of all preconceptions related to the initial nature of the object. We are also made to see a hidden spatiality in a familiar space or to discover the poetic beauty in everyday words. The onlookers are invited to share the experience of participating in answering the artists＇ questions in search for the fundamental nature of human existence.
