The Korean Cultural Center of the United Arab Emirates (Director Nam Chan-woo) will host its 5th annual “2021 Korean Film Festival”virtually and will run for 10 days from 19 to 28 of August.


The online film festival, which will be held in commemoration of the 2020-2021 Korea-UAE Cultural Dialogue, is expected to be composed of six of the latest Korean films and 18 short independent animations, allowing local audiences to watch a wide range of Korean films


It is noteworthy that films featured in the festival have been well received in Korea and to be introduced to the local communities of Korean film fans. The list includes; The Book of Fish, which won the Grand Prize, The Day I Died: Unclosed case which won the Best Scenario Award, Moving On, which won the Best New Director Award in 52nd Baeksang Film Awards and The Man Standing Next which won the Best Picture at Blue Dragon Awards in Korea.


The event will give a unique opportunity to the audiences as an extensive selection of independent films and short independent animations will be screened including Bori, a story of a deaf family which also won the Best Picture Ward at an overseas film festival and Evaporated, a documentary film based on a true story of a missing child.
