The 2021 Korean Film Festival (KFF) organised by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Singapore returns with its first ever hybrid line-up for all to enjoy from 7th October. Aptly themed “Here We Live, Here We Grow”, this year’s KFF will feature 8 titles over 15 screenings at Golden Village Suntec with Embassy’s local partners, and up to 30 classic Korean films online via meWATCH, Singapore’s representative VOD platform by Mediacorp in partnership with Clover Films.

For the first time ever, in show of solidarity between Singapore and Korea amidst pandemic, KFF will open with a simultaneous screening of “The Book of Fish” directed by Lee Joon Ik in partnership with Busan International Film Festival.


The screening will prove that audiences from both countries can actively communicate with one another beyond borders  through the following Q & A session with the director and film cast in Korea.


In theatres
In-person screening will run over 2 weekends from the 7 to 17 of October 2021. From the action packed “Exit” which reminds us not to lose laugher even during a disaster to “Dongju” a film based on a poet story who lost everything only rise again with family love, audience can pick from a selection of Korean titles to satisfy their K-cinematic cravings. Be sure to catch the special inclusion of “Minari” a gentle film about finding home in the heartlands which saw South Korean veteran actress, Youn Yuh-jung, winning “Best Supporting Actress” at the 2021 Oscars awards. Online Screening
With aims to provide safe and memorable chances for Singaporeans to learn more about classic Korean films, 30 titles in total will be released for free via meWATCH, Mediacorp’s VOD platform from 7th October 2021, with 6 new titles introduced each week. To enjoy, simply download the meWATCH app or visit meWATCH.sg
