KCC brings Dalgona and Korean childhood toys into Filipino homes
Korean Cultural Center in the Philippines brought Squid Game vibes to the Philippine online scene through its livestream last October 15 on its Facebook page.
More than 200 Filipino VIPS cheered on, joined the fun, and “placed their bets” live as to which team would end up being victorious after battling it off in three different childhood games.
Filipino and Korean staff gamely took on the challenge of playing Filipino and Korean childhood games in order to win the coveted prize. Among the games that they played were Ddakji and Pogs, Gonggi Nori and Jackstones, and the famous Dalgona Candy Challenge. To make the games interesting, the Filipino staff played the Korean games Ddakji and Gonggi Nori, while the Korean staff played the Filipino games Pogs and Jackstones.
As a fitting finale to the Squid Game inspired event, all participants attempted their luck in carving a shape out of a Dalgona treat.
Meanwhile, those who were at home were also given the opportunity to make their own Dalgona candies at home via a quick cooking tutorial before the battle started.
In the end, 30 lucky viewers who guessed and rooted for Team Triangle were chosen to receive their very own childhood games kit to try in their own homes.
