This year, one of the biggest fantasy film festivals in the world, BIFFF - Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival awarded in the International Competition a Silver Raven to Korean film The Closet (2020), a haunted house horror featuring the actors HA Jung-woo and KIM Nam-gil and was directed by KIM Kwang-Bin.
The 39th edition of BIFFF was held entirely online and included the screening of nine Korean movies.
The movies that were selected are: The Closet by director Kwang-bin Kim, which was nominated for two categories including International Competition and Critics Award, Seobok by director Lee Yong-ju, which is simultaneously screened and released in Korea (April 15), director Jo Barun's Slate, director Jo Seul-ye's Diva, director Hong Ui-jung's Voice of Silence, director Kim Seung-woo's Bring Me Home, and director Choi Won-seop's Hitman: Agent Jun.
Also director Lee Hyun-seung's A Love Story, which was released in 2000, will be screened in a special section called 'Retro Korea'.
Also, in the International Short Collection section, Ang Lee's Couple Rings will be screened.
A BIFFF programmer commented, “I thought we should provide something valuable to the current audiences that have been deprived. We hope that the audience will be able to travel around the world through films from various countries during the festival period.”
