2021 Korean-Polish Contemporary Art Exchange Project

“Citimprovisation: Seoul x Krakow”

Documentary Wandering the Sound(scape) – Sounds in Between


"Soundscape", which creates a landscape by mixing various sounds and noises.

A documentary containing video and production process of improvised performances by Korean-Paul performers using the Polish city of Krakow and Soundscape in Seoul, Korea will be produced and released.

Korean performers include saxophonist Lee Sun-jae, flutist Kim Taek-joon, pianist Kim Eun-young, and drummer Song Joon-young of the modern improvisational music label Meng Music Label, while Polish bassist Rafal Mazur, saxophonist Paulina Owczarek, guitarist Michał Dymny, percussionist Tomek Chołoniewski.

This work will be co-produced by the Korean Cultural Center in Poland and the Alchemia Foundation, an organization specializing in Polish contemporary music, and will premiere at the Krakow Jazz Autumn Festival on November 28. After the premiere, it will be released online on the cultural center's YouTube channel and performance program online platform (kperformance-ckk.org) and the Krakow cultural platform Play Krakow.
