<Ready! Action! Let's Eat!> video series about Korean food story in Korean movies and dramas
The Korean Cultural Center has produced <Ready! Action! Let's Eat!>, a video content providing video content that allows you to understand interesting topics such as the plot, background, and filming location of the work through learning Korean food in Korean movies and dramas to promote diverse Korean culture in the host country.
Before filming, Korean films and dramas and Korean food preferred by locals were surveyed on Instagram and Facebook of the Cultural Center and reflected in the selection of works, and a total of 6 videos were posted from August 24 to September 28.
The selected works and food are as follows.
- Episode 1, Tteokbokki in 'Vincenzo'
- Episode 2, Jjapaguri in 'Parasite'
- Episode 3, Sundubu Jjigae in ‘Itaewon Class’
- Episode 4, Chimaek in 'Crash Landing on You'
- Episode 5, Moyakgwa in ‘Gwanghae, the man who became king’
- Episode 6, Korean BBQ in ‘Let’s Eat’
Each video consists of learning Korean food recipes from the above six works, quizzes related to Korean food and dramas, Korean traditional games, and parodies of the corresponding works.
In particular, in the last episode of the 6 episodes, Korean BBQ was directly streamed live, and there was also a Q&A session about the entire video, Korean dramas and movies, and Korean food.
A total of 7 videos (including the edited version of the 6 live streaming) received a very good response with 130,000 views, 2,200 likes, and 191 comments.
Subscriber Patty said that all the videos are really fun and informative to get information about Korean food as well as general culture, customs, clothes and traditions of Korea.
Tiziana Serra responded that the format of talking about food and drama together was a really good idea and looking forward to the next episodes.
Rather than simply showing one aspect of Korean culture, it introduces filming locations and introduces Korean culture that can be learned from drama scenes, introducing Korean culture in various fields in addition to K-food and K-drama.
