A commemoration ceremony was held for the 1st Turkish Brigade, which won the Battle of Kumyangjang-ni 71 years ago, at the Monument to the Turks Fighting in Korea in Ankara.
Ministry of National Defense (MSB) officials, soldiers, members of Turkish Combat Veterans Association and South Korean Embassy officials attended the ceremony held at the Monument to the Fighting Turks in Korea in Altındağ district of Ankara. After laying a wreath at the monument, a moment of silence was held in honor of the martyrs of the Korean War, and the National Anthem and the South Korean national anthem were sung.
In a statement regarding the ceremony, the Ministry of National Defense said, "A commemoration ceremony was held for the 1st Turkish Brigade, which won the Battle of Kumyangjang-ni in Korea 71 years ago, at the Monument to the Fighting Turks in Korea. We honor our martyrs, our deceased hero veterans. We commemorate our veterans with mercy and wish a healthy long life to our veterans.
