
The Korean Cultural Centre SA, with the cooperation of the Diplomatic Society, organized a gathering that included
Princess Stella Sigcau II of the Mpondo Kingdom and Ambassador of DIRCO, and Cultural Attachés from various Embassies.
This meeting was to have a tour of the Korean Cultural Centre and cultural exchange.
Different Cultural Attaché’s and Princesses from the South African Royal Princess Network, including Mpondo,
Batlokwa, and AmaXesibe Kingdoms revealed high expectations and interests. Participants began the tour after listening to
the introduction of the Korean Cultural Centreand showed immense curiosity toward Hanbok,Korean food, and K-pop.
Princess Stella Sigcau II from the Mpondo Kingdom said, “It was a very chilled tour. The popularity of K-pop and
Korean movies has spread fast in South Africa recently. I’d like to invite and host an event with
Korean Cultural Centre atMpondo Kindgdom’s festival that will be held in September.”
The Director of Korean Cultural Centre Jungbum Chun said, “We will spread Korean culture not only by K-pop and K-drama
but also with the various cultural events, Cooking classes, and Taekwondo in our Centre.” The Russian Cultural Attaché,
Yuri Gerasimov mentioned that “We could not be able to learn deeper information regarding Korean history and contents.
I’m satisfied knowing all these precious contents.”
Cultural Diplomatic and Economic Consultant, Sello Motsei, suggested hosting leadership seminars in
schools located in Pretoria to present the culture, diplomacy, and economics of different countries and
agreed to have further discussions in the future. Our Centre suggested hosting a world food festival and
presentinglocal cuisine to South Africans.
