Sokcho is a Korean seaside city in Gangwon Province. The city lies between the Seorak Mountains to the west, and the East Sea to the east. Thanks to this location, Sokcho is famous for its charming mountains and beaches, as well as unique local dishes. Visitors can try Sokcho specialties such as chicken gangjeong(닭강정) and squid sundae(오징어 순대). It takes about 2.5 hours from Seoul to Sokcho. When the KTX high-speed railway to Sokcho is finished, it will take just one hour from Seoul to Sokcho.
