Events at KCCs abroad

The Korean Honor Scholarship was first established in 1981 with the gift fund of one million US dollars donated by the government of the Republic of Korea to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the opening of diplomatic relations between Korea and the U. S. A. The scholarship is awarded to encourage outstanding students who have Korean heritage to achieve their highest academic performance and develop leadership qualities for their future professional careers in the global society. Students who are interested in applying the KHS download the application form and the guideline, and submit it to the Korean Education Center of New York.

  • o Application period: April 18 ~ June 17, 2022

  • o First round evaluation at regional consular offices: June 20 ~ July 1, 2022

  • o Final round evaluation by Central Selection Committee: July 29, 2022

  • o Scholarship Award presentation: After October 4, 2022

  • o The amount of scholarships: Honor Scholarship: $1,000 (16 students or so)

  • o Requirements: See the Guidelines (attachment).
