Korean Cultural Center Indonesia together with Cheongju Early Printing Museum held an event to introduce and promote Jikji, the oldest existing book of movable metal print in the world, that is also one of the UNESCO Memory of the World Prize.
The event, which was held on 28 April 2022, opened with remarks by Kim Yong-woon, the Director of Korean Cultural Center Indonesia. This was an interesting opportunity for participants to get to know about Jikji.
The event is divided into two sessions. First session is an introduction through presentation and a small exhibition of Jikji’s material replicas such as a replica of Jikji book, “The Great Jikji Adventure of Jikji” comic book, and video presentation. Meanwhile in the second session, participants learn how to make Jikji font using calligraphy technique written on a tote bag.
