On May 26, 2022, Director and staffs of the Korean Cultural Center in Thailand visited Wat Arun Ratchawararam Ratchawaramahawihan, one of the most popular temples of Thailand and meet with MCU Dr. Phra Phromwatcharamethi, Chief Abbot of the Wat Arun, and Phra Khru Lad Suwattana Rattanakhun.
MCU Dr. Phra Phromwatcharamethi, Chief Abbot of the Wat Arun, the temple which is the landmark of Thailand, said that even Korea and Thailand use different languages but the teachings of the Buddhism are the same. With today connection, that might have had relationship as brothers in the previous life that is like maintaining the good relationship between the both countries at the same time.
Korean Cultural Center Director presented Bangasayusang (Bronze Maitreya Bodhisattva) replica and explained the Buddhist culture of the both countries. While, the Chief Abbot presented Wat Arun introduction and presented souvenir.
Korean Cultural Center and Wat Arun decided to hold Thai-Korean cultural exchange event on the occasion of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) during the late half of the year along with continuous exchanges.
