The Korean Cultural Center, Los Angeles and Global Cooperation Society International jointly presented the Eighth workshop for law enforcement personnel on May 12, 2010, from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, on the 3rd Floor of the Korean Cultural Center.
The purpose of this workshop is to help police personnel understand Korean heritage and to overcome cultural barriers. Forthy five Los Angeles Police Department personnel participated in this workshop to learn about Korean history, culture and language. Sergeant Goode, Operations-West Bureau, was presented at the beginning of the workshop to welcome the attendees. Korean language reference cards with simple phrases were also distributed to the participants.
Since the first workshop in 2008, over 350 LAPD officers & personnel were experienced the Korean Culture & helped them in their duties as a police officers.
The 8-hour session included lectures by professors from leading universities, a traditional Korean lunch, Bi Bim Bap and a tour of the Korean Cultural Center.
