<HOTTEOK 호떡>

Hotteok is one of the most beloved winter street snacks in Korea. As it has become super popular, Hotteok vendors can be found on the streets throughout the all winter time. It is crispy on the outside and inside can be filled with many other ingredients. It is a magical pancake that will make you feel warm and toasty. One bite of Hotteok will help you forget the winter wind. Through the workshop, we will make the original version together, and also learn two other special versions.

The most popular and original version is called Kkul-Hotteok (꿀호떡) and it is filled with honey or sweet syrup, with the aroma of cinnamon.

Ssiat-Hotteok (씨앗호떡) is filled with lots of different nuts, such as sesame and sunflower seeds. This is very popular in the areas around Busan.

Japchae-Hotteok (잡채호떡) is filled with Japchae, stir-fried glass noodles and vegetables which is an absolute and all-time favourate for many Koreans! This unique combination of Japchae and Hotteok create a delicious flavour that marries sweetness with savoriness.
