HKEAA recently announced that, considering the growing interest in Korean language among the youth in Hong Kong, from 2025, Korean language will become a subject of DSE (Category C: Other Language Subjects). The assessment method will be determined by the Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK), held by the National Institute of International Education, which is affiliated to the Ministry of Education of South Korea.
