Before Hangul was invented in 1446, ancient Korean scholars created literary works in Chinese, which made it possible for Korean and Chinese scholars to communicate with each other. Collection of Ancient Korean and Chinese classics kept these masterpieces authored by scholars from both nations. The exhibition “Science and Art: Calligraphy Art without Boundaries” is meant to be a bridge between faculties and students from Korean and Chinese universities in different scientific fields for cultural exchanges.

The exhibition will showcase 30 calligraphy artworks and English translation works of renowned Korean and Chinese scholars and students based on the poems of ancient Korean and Chinese literati. Through artworks and literature, the participants from Korea and China are engaged in cross-cultural and cross-linguistic communication that has been on-going for thousands of years. The event represents the collision of Science and Art, the intersection of Rationality and Sensibility, which will bring about fresh, colorful moments to the world.
