Between 14 and 21 October, in 4+1 sections, the Korean Cultural Center will present the 15th Korean Film Festival with a total of 38 films in Budapest and in Debrecen. 

Featuring the latest Korean films, from historical dramas to thrillers to romance/fantasy. In addition to the novelty, the ‘Fresh’ section focuses on the emerging trends of Korean film. Showcasing one of Korea’s most high-impact filmmakers, the ‘Faces’ section provides audiences with a comprehensive picture of each featured creator. In 2022, our focus is on the work of director Byun Young-joo, who will also be available for a live meet-and-greet. This year, Focus ‘section’ is a selection of films that brought extraordinary life-situations to the screen. In the Extra section, the audience can watch short films and animations, and in the Bonus section, our four focus is on self-awareness and life-changing encounters.

The Festival presents CineTalk with director Byun Young-joo and Street music event with Korean singer-songwriter SUNGJOON. A K-Pop Contest inspired by the movie “Song Hae 1927” will take place at the end of October in the Korean Cultural Center. 

The films of the Korean Film Festival are also competing for the votes of audiences this year! The audience award will be presented to the winner at the end of the Festival, in a ceremonial setting.

This year, on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the Festival, we will reward the Korean film fans with unique gifts: while stocks last, everyone who buys tickets for more than 6 screenings in Budapest will be surprised with gifts in the second half of the festival week.
