Events at KCCs abroad

On the occasion of the 10th Anniversary of the establishment of the Strategic Partnership between the Republic of Korea and Thailand, Korean Cultural Center in Thailand held an event 'Korean Culture Scene' during September 24 - October 15, 2022.



According this, a Korean-Thai Culture Festival "Annyeong Thailand, Sawasdee Korea" was held on stage on October 2, 2022 by Korean Cultural Center in Thailand, and the Embassy of the Republic of Korea to Thailand, together with the Ministry of Culture of Thailand. at Zpell, Future Park Rangsit Shopping Center presided by H.E. Mr. Moon Seoung-hyun, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Thailand and Mrs. Yuthika Isarangkura Na Ayudhaya, Deputy Permanent Secretary of Culture of Thailand.



Highlight of the event starting from Appointment Ceremony of the Honorary Ambassador for the ‘Korean Culture Scene’ to Narilya Gulmongkolpech, Thai actress who played the heroin of Thai-Korean film 'The Medium (Rang Zong)' in 2021. Then, she was on the stage a model of Hanbok Fashion show. Then, the Korean Culture Association provided Hanbok to 11 Thai Korean War Veterans, and the Embassy of the Republic of Korea delivered scholarship to the Thai descendants of Korean War Veterans at this event.  



There were various Korean-Thai performances: The College of Dramatic Arts presented Thai traditional dance, followed by the performance of Korean-Thai idol group ‘Seven Stars’ to illustrate the soft power exchange of both countries. ‘Seven Stars’, a male group with 3 Korean members and 4 Thai members, formed on September 17, 2022 by Channel 3 and attract attention as the symbol of the Korean-Thai soft power. 



On this event, it included B-Boy and traditional music performance by Jeong Ga Ak Hoe (JGAH) with B-Boy teams 'M.B.CREW' and 'BASEUS'. The performance in Thailand is the part of the concert tour on 6 countries, under the name 'Korea Culture Scene', led by KOCIS (Korean Culture and Information Service). JGAH is a skilled traditional Korean music performance group and performed in the stage of many countries such as England, Unite States and Hong Kong, since its foundation in 2000. The members of team 'M.B.CREW' and 'BASEUS' are talented B-boy who win various world championship, and they will show creative breaking dance using Korean Mask dance and popular scenes from the world-known series such as 'Squid Game'.



Ambassador Moon says that 'Annyeong Thailand, Sawasdee Korea' is held as the 3rd time with honored by the Ministry of Culture of Thailand to co-host. This event is held to show the friendship and cultural exchange between Thailand and Korea. The both countries has similar culture and it would be very nice if the both countries would develop it together. The Both countries have good cooperation previously such as BLACKPINK Lisa and the movie 'Rang Zong'. At the same time, he appreciated in Thai silk costume that is so comfortable while Mrs. Yuthika Isarangkura Na Ayudhaya, Deputy Permanent Secretary of Culture of Thailand and Narilya Gulmongkolpech wore Korean Hanbok that is regarded as cultural exchange that is the beautiful soft power.
