Events at KCCs abroad

The Hangeul Design Project is an initiative aiming to shed new light on the value of Hangeul from a design perspective, reinterpreting it as a resource for fine- and applied arts. Since 2016, three exhibitions have been organized and presented by the National Hangeul Museum. This exhibition reconstructs these past iterations to convey the value of Hangeul in a simple and intuitive manner.

The first section of the exhibition highlights the original prototype of Hangeul dating back to the fifteenth century, while the second section focuses on the flexibility of Hangeul as a phonetic alphabet. Finally, the third section explores the aesthetics and significance of the Hangeul’s structure, constituted by  vowels and consonants grouped to form syllabic blocks.

The exhibition can be visited from 10 October 2022 until 23 January 2023 in the Korean Cultural Center in Hungary.
