Quiz on Korea 2022 was successfully held on October 29 (SAT) at Mu Kuang English School. This year, Korean Cultural Center in Hong Kong co-organized the very first Korean culture quiz contest with Mu Kuang English School, the first local secondary school that offers Korean language as a regular subject for students last year.
This year, 7 secondary schools participated in the contest, including ▲MU KUANG ENGLISH SCHOOL 慕光英文書院 ▲NING PO NO.2 COLLEGE 寧波第二中學 ▲TWGHS CYMA MEMORIAL COLLEGE 東華三院馬振玉紀念中學 ▲TWGHS MR&MRS KWONG SIK KWAN COLLEGE東華三院鄺錫坤中學 ▲TWGHS WONG FUNG LING COLLEGE 東華三院黃鳳翎中學 ▲TWGHS YAU TSZ TIN MEMORIAL COLLEGE東華三院邱子田紀念中學 ▲CCC ROTARY SECONDARY SCHOOL中華基督教會扶輪中學. Each school sent 5 representatives, 35 students in total participated.
The contest was divided into preliminary and final round. In the preliminary round, students are tested with less challenging questions such as time difference between Hong Kong and Korea, Korea's capital. 4 teams that gained highest marks were shortlisted for the final round, which consists of more challenging questions in various fields such as KPOP, K-drama, K-movie, K-food, geography, history, tourism, traditional cultures in Korea.
In the end, Ning Po No.2 College’s team won the first prize, the TWGHs Wong Fung Ling College’s team won the second prize, and the Mu Kuang English School’s team won the third prize.

Quiz on Korea 2022 event was a meaningful event to find out how much local secondary school students understand Korea and Korean cultures and what areas they are relatively interested in.
Mr. Ho Sai Cheong, Principal of Mu Kuang English School, said “Students in our school are very interested in Korean culture, thanks to K-pop and K-dramas, and Quiz on Korea is a great event to promote Korea, and we expect students to be more interested in Korea through the event.”
To raise local teenagers’ interest in Korea and motivate them studying Korean language, Korean Cultural Center will continue to co-organize Korean cultural activities that targets local students with local schools and Korean language academies.
