[Hong Kong] K-Food Top Chef 2022 Cooking Contest


12 K-Food enthusiasts gathered in the Towngas Cooking Centre on the 13th of November to participate in the K-Food Top Chef 2022 Cooking Contest. The Contest, hosted by the Korean Cultural Center in Hong Kong, is an annual contest for professional and hobbyist chefs all over Hong Kong to compete and showcase their Korean cooking skills.


This year's theme was Japchae and Fresh Kimchi, two of the most beloved Korean dishes in Hong Kong. The panel of judges led by Chef Kim Jeong Mi, judged the dishes based on authenticity, taste and presentation, while also giving the contestants useful and constructive feedback on their cooking as well as interesting stories about Korean food.


The winner this year was Cheung Wing Sze, who won first prize for her authentic taste, followed by Lam Wan Chong and Poon Wai Kuen, who made creative and delicious dishes based on the theme. Chef Kim, the main judge, expressed gratitude for the contestants love for Korean food and culture, and gave everyone a heart-warming "honorary first prize" in her final verdict.
