On December 17 two Korean First Prize winners of the Queen Elisabeth Competition will return to Belgium. Ji Young Lim (Violin, 2015) and Hayong Choi (Cello, 2022) will have their anticipated first-ever collaboration.

Violinist Ji Young Lim has become a star since she won the first prize of Queen Elisabeth Competition 2015. In 2014, she won the bronze medal in the International Violin Competition of Indianapolis (2014) and received the Mozart Sonata special prize. Even before these, she had been acknowledged for her brilliant talents and fruitful musicality by many domestic and international competitions and festivals.

Hayoung Choi is the First Prize Winner of the 2022 Queen Elisabeth Competition for Cello. She also won the First Prize and two special prizes at the 3rd Krzysztof Penderecki International Cello Competition in Poland 2018. At the age of thirteen, she already won the first prize at the Johannes Brahms International Competition in Austria, where she became the youngest winner in its history.

This recital is a co-production between the Korean Cultural Center and Antwerp Symphony Orchestra, in collaboration with the Queen Elisabeth Competition.
