The Korean Cultural Centre in South Africa invited over 50 officials from the tourism industry in the host country on Friday, 21 October 2022 to hold a promotional event for Korean tourism, under the theme ‘Feel the Real Korea’. The event, designed to expand tourism in Korea, shared the experiences of Percy Koji, Chairman of TWC and Judi Nwokedi, Chair of the Gauteng Tourism Authority, who visited Korea at the invitation of the Korea Tourism Organization.

Judi Nwokedi, Chair of the Gauteng Tourism Authority said “Korea has something in common with South Africa, such as colonial rule and experiences of poverty." Percy Koji, Chairman of TWC, introduced Korea as the cleanest and safest place in Asia where you can travel with confidence. Tim Mostert, the author of ‘Know Your Nation/Korea’ book, about Korean history and culture in collaboration with the Korean Embassy, introduced the book through an online video.

Chun Jung Bum, Director of the Korean Culture Centre said, “I hope this event will serve as an opportunity for South Africans to learn more about Korea, which has various charms.” The Korean Cultural Centre in South Africa will continue to strive to provide opportunities for Korea and South Africa to become closer through Korean culture.
