Important Notices
1) This semester is from JAN 10- FEB 18, 2023. No classes from JAN 21-27 due to Lunar New Year holiday. 5 weeks in total. Class schedule will be sent to successfully registered students later.
2) This semester is Winter special semester, special courses instead of regular courses will be offered. Certificate will NOT be provided.
3) Textbook is NOT necessary for this semester.
4) Application is accepted from DEC 6 to 9 (HKT 17:00).
5) Attendees will be notified via email. Sorry for unable to notify all applicants.
6) Students cannot change their class unless they get teacher’s approval.
7) Only accept applicants aged 18 years or above.
8) Students who cannot maintain the attendance with 70% or above, will not have priority to register KCCHK's Korean language classes offered in 2023 Spring Semester.
9) As the courses will be conducted online via Zoom, students should ensure they have the electronic devices that can join virtual meetings.
10) Courses are conducted in Korean unless otherwise specified.
11) Students should open their camera during lessons for better interaction with teacher and other students, and follow the class rules.
Frequently-asked Questions
1) Q: Are the classes free of charge?
A: Yes, all classes are free of charge.
2) Q: What is “proof”?
A: Certificate issued by King Sejong Institute,KCCHK; valid TOPIK score report; other certificates issued by other institutions（If the certificate is not issued within 2 years, or the teacher does not know the course content, KCCHK will not take it as proof）.
3) Q: I have learnt Korean before, can I join the classes offered by KCCHK?
A: Sure，as long as you can provide proof (refer to Q2) . If you have no proof, or KCCHK does not acknowledge your proof, you may be invited to participate in the level test.
4) Q: I have applied for many times, why did I still fail?
A: Firstly, make sure that you meet the qualification. Please note that KCCHK will admit applicants who provide valid proof first. If too many applicants who provided valid proof applied for the same course, attendees will be selected by random draw.
5) Q: I have never learnt Korean before, am I eligible for any courses this semester?
A: This semester is Winter special semester, complete beginngers are only eligible for 2 cultural classes conducted in English (History of Joseon dynasty, modern Korean history). If you would like to learn Korean from the beginning, please stay tuned to our Spring Semester Korean classes (Application opens in February 2023)
