The Korean Cultural Center Los Angeles (KCCLA), in collaboration with the King Sejong Institute Center, USA, hosted a Korean Lunar New Year event on Tuesday, January 17th, in celebration of Korea’s biggest holiday.
Students in the Korean language programs had time to learn about traditional Korean culture and customs, including the historical background of Korea’s Lunar New Year (called ‘Seollal’). In addition, students were divided into teams and had a fun time learning how to play Yunnori—a popular traditional Korean game often played among children during the Lunar New Year holiday.
At the end of the event, the KCCLA presented of all of the participants with a 2023 calendar produced by the Korea Overseas Cultural Promotion Agency as a gift.
