To commemorate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Korea and India and keep pace with the growing demand for learning the Korean language and culture in India, Korean Cultural Center India has prepared special Korean language classes incorporating Korean culture.
In 2022, more than 9,500 students participated in the Korean language classes held by the Korean Cultural Center India. The K-culture boom in India, caused through Korean dramas and K-POP, drew interest in the Korean language and Korean culture over the past year, resulting in a rapid increase in demand for Korean language and culture classes and heightened interest in Korean culture.
To cater to this growing demand Korean Cultural Centre India is operating 3 special classes from January 9th to the 27th 2023. About 60 students are participating in these classes. The classes aim to teach Korean pronunciation through K-Pop, Korean emotion and customs through traditional fairy tales, and improve their ability to broadly understand conversations with native Korean speakers through proverbs and idioms.
Hwang Il Yong, director of the Korean Cultural Center India, said, "According to the response we receive from the pilot classes, we plan to prepare a variety of classes that can meet students' needs and constantly draw students' excitement and interest. Through this, we will do our best to bear fruit of qualitative growth and quantitative expansion of Korean language education in 2023."
