The Korean Book Club of the Korean Cultural Center in Brussels is welcoming the Year of the Rabbit by choosing ‘Cursed Bunny’ by Bora Chung fortheir first book meeting of this year.
‘Cursed Bunny’ has been translated from Korean to English by Anthor Hur and has been shortlisted for last year’s International Booker prize.
According to the publisher Honford Star this book which is composed is several short stories “Blurres the lines between magical realism, horro, and science-fiction. Chung uses elements of the fantastic and surreal to address the very real horrors and cruelties of partiarchy and capitalism in modern society.”
For this particular book club meeting, the KCC has collaborated with local bookstore Waterstones Brussels to promote this event and Korean literature in general by creating a Korean literature corner in the store.
This Korean Book Club meeting will take place at the library of the Korean Cultural Center on March 9 from 7PM.
