On January 13, Consul General Euy Whan Kim attended the 63rd Anniversary Gala hosted by the Korean American Association of Greater New York (KAAGNY), which celebrated the 120th anniversary of Korean American immigration.
The event was joined by over 300 distinguished members of the Korean American community and various elected officials at all levels of government. Senator Chuck Schumer and Congresswoman Grace Meng attended the event on the federal level. Also, State Senator John Liu, Assemblyman Edward Braunstein, and Assemblywoman Grace Lee represented the New York State legislature, while NYS Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli represented the state government. Representing New York City, Mayor Eric Adams and Councilmembers Linda Lee, Julie Won, and Sandra Ung celebrated the day with the community.
