Events at KCCs abroad

The Korean Cultural Center Los Angeles (KCCLA, Director Sangwon Jung) hosted several family-friendly events in Los Angeles and San Diego to celebrate the 2023 Lunar New Year. 


[San Diego Library Korean American Heritage Celebration]

KCCLA & San Diego Library celebrated 2nd the annual Korean American Heritage Celebration. Event included Korean traditional music and dance performances, Korean drum workshop, Hanbok experience, class on writing the Korean alphabet, as well as a children’s craft class with Korean theme.

[Valley Lunar New Year Celebration]

This event was prepared in collaboration with the City of Los Angeles' Department of Cultural Affairs. Visitors had the unique chance to experience various aspects of Korean culture, from traditional music and dance, traditional games (pitch pot & shuttlecock), the Korean New Year foods, such as tteokguk (rice cake soup), the Hanbok Experience (traditional Korean dress) and the photo zone.

[LAPL New Year Celebration]

Five (5) Asian communities (Korea/China/Japan/Cambodia/Vietnam) celebrated Lunar New Year by presenting their cultures. 

This is cultural exchange program in learning traditional crafts, cultural performances and enrich your knowledge about the Cambodian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Vietnamese cultures. Event included Korean traditional music and dance performances, traditional games (Hanji craft & shuttlecock), writing names with the Korean alphabet and promoting the Korean language program.
