The Korean Cultural Center in Thailand host an audition at Buriram, the home town of Lalisa of Blackpink to discover new talents with JYP Entertainment, Source Music and GGA Entertainment.
The auditions was held at Non Suwan Pittayakom School, Buriram on 14-15 February 2023, in order of celebration of the 65th anniversary of Korea-Thailand relations.
Over two days, 500 students participated in the audition and showed off their talents in dance, vocals, and rap. Kakao Entertainment's casting director, Gil Sung Hoon, stated that it was worthwhile coming from Korea because there are many excellent talents in the northeastern region.
H.E. Mr. Moon Seoung-hyun, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Thailand and Mr. Cho Jae-il, Director of the Korean Cultural Center, inspected the cultural space of Non Suwan Pittayakom School on the 14th, delivered 600 K-pop CDs and masks, and visited the audition site to encourage the participants and award the students.
In this regard, there are also several honourable people in the province to welcome and show the joy of visiting at this opportunity.
Furthermore, on the 15th, KCC Thailand visited Krasang Pittayacom School, which is conducting Korean language major education, and delivered 100 Korean books, 150 masks, and Korean handicraft such as traditional Korean candlesticks, Korean hanging scrolls, and folding screens.
A Korean major's students, who were taught by a Korean teacher for about a year, fluently performed the fairy tale "The Sun and the Moon" in front of around a 1,000 audience members and received applause.
We hope that this visit of the KCC Thailand will be a great opportunity for Buriram students to follow their dreams and experience the variety of Korean culture.
