‘K-pop Generation’ documentary spotlights SB19

P-pop trailblazer SB19 was recently mentioned in a docuseries exploring the international K-pop craze.

The K-pop Generation documentary series, produced by South Korean media giant CJENM and available on the Korean streaming service TVING, analyzes the international success of the K-pop phenomenon through interviews with artists, producers, fans, and music critics.

The fourth episode of the documentary series, titled “What the K?,” zooms in on the five members of SB19 and their ascent to prominence.

“‘SB’ stands for ‘sound break,’ meaning breaking into the music scene here in the Philippines, and also to promote Filipino music and Filipino culture on the world stage,” main vocalist Stell explained.

The members of the group said they decided to train with ShowBT Philippines because, according to Pablo, “it’s a Korean company” and Korean entertainment is “very successful, and they have their own system to train their talents.”
