The twenty-first edition of the Florence Korea Film Fest, the oldest film festival in Europe dedicated exclusively to Korean Cinema, was inaugurated on Thursday 30 March 2023 at the La Compagnia theater in Florence in Italy.
The Minister of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea Choi Jong Ho thanked the constant commitment to all those who made the festival possible and to all those present for the interest shown in Korean Cinema.
In addition to the rich selection of films, the Festival was also enriched by the presence of prominent personalities of Korean Cinema such as the protagonist of the films "Decision to Leave" and "Hansan: Rising Dragon" the actor Park Hae-il, the record-breaking director Kim Han-min, webtoonist creator of "Shark" Kim Woo-seop, illustrator Jeong Kyu-ah, director of "Waikiki Brothers" and "Little Forest" Yim Soon-rye, director of "A Girls At My Door" and "Next Sohee" July Jung and 4-time Academy Award-winning director Bong Joon-ho. Everyone in Florence to celebrate the twenty-first edition of the Florence Korea Film Fest.
At the same time as the festival, an exhibition dedicated to Manhwa and Webtoon was also set up in the spaces of the La Compagnia theater in Florence.
