and Indian youth come together through the power of culture

40 Korean Youth Culture Delegation coming to Delhi for big performances

Gyeongsangbuk-do, the Representative province government of the South Korea, is holding "Korea Art Road" program at New Delhi(Kamani Auditorium) on 23rd May at 5 p.m. for creating a platform for India-Korea Youth cultural exchange.

This event is planned to celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and India through cultural and artistic exchange event of two countries` youth and to lead a new era of India-Korea relations through the power of culture.

The performance will be starting with a promotional video of Korea followed by a joint performance of Taekwondo Poomsae(positions) by Korean and Indian performers, Korean traditional farmers‘ music from Gyeongsangbuk-do, traditional Korean music such as folk songs, a K-pop dance performance and a joint performance between India and Korea youth. For representing Indian cultural performance, Indian Council for Cultural Relations will present Indian classical and folk dance performances.

The province government expects to attract excellent Indian youths to Korea and Gyeongsangbuk-do with the opportunities for studying at universities, working at companies, and other activities in the region. In this regard, Korean Cultural Centre India is inviting the local college students and especially, special abled students in support of the program, and a special lecture by Governor of Gyeongsangbuk-do(head of the government like chief minister of the state in India), Cheol-Woo Lee along with an information session for attracting Indian students will be held at convention hall, Delhi University  at 11 a.m. on the same day. Before the special lecture, a cultural performance by the Yeungnam University Samulnori(Korean traditional percussion quartet) troupe will be presented to help the students experience Korean culture.

Governor Cheol-Woo Lee said, "The 'Korea Art Road' event will be an opportunity for us to introduce the excellence of our country's culture and that of Gyeongsangbuk-do. Through the joint performance between Gyeongsangbuk-do and India, we expect to have an amazing experience of laughing and enjoying together through culture and arts, and eventually to become one. We are looking forward to create more opportunities for Korea and India to harmonize more and energetically usher in a new era of Korea-India relations through culture."
