'The Wedding Day', the Korean opera premiere at the Thailand Cultural Center during 7th and 8th June at 6PM each. It hosted by 'the New Seoul Opera company' and supported by Arts Council Korea, Thai Korean War Veterans Association, and the Korean Cultural Center in Thailand. The opera is about Korean traditional wedding in a form of Western-style opera, and presents various Korean culture such as traditional music, dance, and dress.


It premiered in 2012 in 8 cities of China, including Beijing, Shanghai, Xian, and Russia. For the Korean opera history, it is the first-ever premier in Thailand.


Around 100 cast members and staff including top opera singers, New Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, Choirs, and dancers feature this performance.


 It talks about the greedy man in the old days, Maeng Jin-sa(Maeng) promised to marry his daughter to the tycoon family’s son for his own interest. However, the tycoon’s son, Mi-eon fall in love with the bride's servant, and make gossip that 'tycoon's son is severely disabled’ to Maeng's family to avoid the marriage. Therefore, Maeng devises a stratagem dressing up the servant in the bridal costume instead of his daughter in the wedding day. Then how it will be on the Wedding Day?


Free tickets are available with RSVP form in the Korean Cultural Center's Facebook page(www.facebook.com/koreanculturalcenterTH) from today for maximum 8 tickets per person. The audience should be pre-registered. Pre-registration for group audience more than 8 people is also available through email.
